Chapter 67: Half Day In School...

Idea came up a day before, WL suggested to play basketball in CLHS. Yeah, provided transport, we certainly wouldn't reject that right? He picked me up around 7.40am on 28th and we went to have our breakfast with KO and Victor. After breakfast only we picked up CY and headed straight to CLHS. CLHS was packed with students. Lots of activities around, just like usual Saturday. However, we managed to make ourself a place in the basketball court. Wei Xian, Siew Ming arrived later. After a few rounds playing, KO and I met Zhen Ling outside Band room and we went to find the students of L6B4. Ben, Wei Xian with the rest of L6B4's were there rehearsing for the orientation night performance. Well, after listen to their singing, I can just say that it's not bad and I suppose it will be among the quality performances on that night. Later, KO and I continued to play basketball. Around 1pm, we left the school and went to Greenland McDonald's to have our lunch.

Reached home around 2. Took my bath and then brought my dog to the veterinarian centre nearby. The blood test report is out. The vet diagnosed that my dog is suspected to have some kind of tumour. Oh gosh...it was so damn sad for me to hear that. Well, now we still try our best to take care of it. Hope it will recover.

Chapter 66: French Art Festival...

French Art Festival 2008 was being held from 8th till 25th of May. It consists of French DJ Night, Video Exhibition, Dance Show, La Fete De La Musique and finally French Film Festival. The French Film Festival of Penang is from 20th to 25th of May in Gurney Plaza GSC.

I had join a contest organised by GSC 2 months ago and I've won myself 2 compliment tickets to watch the International Screen movies. I never think that I would won in such contest. GSC management sent me an email and a letter containing the voucher around end of March and April. At first I planned to watch "Paris, Je T'aime" but ended up watching "Ma Vie En L'air" a.k.a. "Love Is In The Air".

I woke up around 11am on Sunday and it was too late for me to rush to Gurney Plaza to watch "Paris, Je T'aime". If I wanna watch it, I need to wait until the next screening time which is 9pm. Therefore, I changed my decision and watched "Love Is In The Air" at 2.15pm. The ticket booth was crowded with people. When I redeemed the tickets, it was already 2.18pm. Waited until 2.35pm then only the movie started. First time for me to watch International Screen movies.

The movie talks about the main character, Mr Quebec who is an safety instructor for an airlines. He was born on a flight but he is afraid of flying. This eventually changed his life...this stopped him from following his dream woman, Charlotte to Australia and lead to a series of event. When he reached his thirties, he faced a dilemma whereby he need to be back with Charlotte or choose Alice (his neighbour). The plot was unique and I like it. Everything from the movie is so authentic. When I was watching the movie, I can never relate to other movies. Not At All! It gave me an whole new experience of watching movie. This is nothing same with those Hollywood movies. Although this is a French movie, the sense of humour is easily understand. A quote from the movie when Quebec was dumped by Charlotte; "Ludo: Don't worry ! A woman, it's 85% water ! Only water, I tell you..." For this movie, I'll rate this 9 out of 10. I really like it. Although I watched it with my father, it was still that great. I can't imagine if I watch it with my fellow friends.

Anyway I've missed lot of stuff for this French Film Festival. I hope I can watch "Paris, Je T'aime" some day. Other than that, hope that next year some of the activities of French Art Festival can be held in Penang. The French DJ Night must be something nice...too bad it isn't available in Penang.

Chapter 65: Small gathering...

It's holidays again for F6. Therefore on 24th of May, I hang out with my friends in Queensbay Mall. It's been 2 weeks since I met those who gone to TARC.

Around 3.30pm, my mom sent CY, KO and me to the mall. The rest(KH, ST, Ben, WL &Zhi Zheng) were having their lunch at Old Town Cafe. They watched Chronicles of Narnia before that. Well, first time for me to have a look on ST's new hair style. Not that bad la actually. LOL...people just need some time to get used to it. ^^ Later, three of us went to buy the tickets and met up with Zheng Ying. We loitered around the mall while looking for a cafe. To our dismay, most of the cafes were kinda full. While we were still looking for a place to sit down, we met up with YY. Two weeks ago, we were sending her off to Nilai and now she is back. LOL...She will go to Kedah Matriculation College by Monday. So this time, she dyed back her hair back to black. The girls went to the hair saloon while the guys went to Coffee Bean and have their 'man talk'. We talk lots about F6 and TARC. Well, turned out that our F6 orientation week ain't that bad, maybe just a 'bit' boring. As usual, a mocha ice blended for myself. Oh yea, there is something not to be left out. Zheng Ying really has SUPERB socialising skills. While we were chatting there, suddenly he just walked away. We looked there and well...what do u know, he was talking to a few girls there. =.= I've an inner thought that if he had forgot that he on the same table with us? The girls were like magnet to him while he was 100% metal made. Maybe people do have their own way of react to certain things. The time passed fast as we talk. At 6.30pm, the movie started and Ben has to go home, maybe to have his own 'entertaining' stuff. After a long wait, finally here comes Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of The Crystal Skull. It's been years since I last watch Indiana Jones. Well..I suppose the previous sequels have been given thumbs up by everyone. And personally I don't think that this sequel will be the exception. The movie is packed with action and I just realised that it is kinda hilarious too. The stunt is unbelievable! The starting, the plot and the effects are magnificent! Overall, I did enjoy my 2 hours and 10 minutes in the cinema watching Indiana Jones.

After the movie, we walked to Dtrend to find YY. When we reached there, she was just started to dye her hair. As a result, we waited outside there for quite sometime before we decided to have our dinner in Palace of India. Too bad Ben not around, otherwise he may introduce us some of the dishes. I was almost starved to death while waiting for the food. It's almost 9.30pm when the food is finally served. We finished all of them in half an hour. ^^ YY finally has her hair dyed and joined us. Well...her hair...looks completely well care and shines. LOL...In my opinion, black does suit her. =) Eventually, we went to arcade as KO and Zheng Ying want to have a round of Initial D. Around 11pm, I reached home thanks to KH who dropped me.

Long waited dinner.

Chapter 64: Someone is back again...

YW was back to Penang again from 17th to 19th May. On 18th of May, YW and I went to Queensbay Mall to watch Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

I woke up at 7.50am that day, listened to my mp4 until 8 something before mom told me that she and dad are going to the Air Itam traditional market for breakfast. I was quite energetic and therefore decided to follow them. This was the second time for me to drive to that market. The traffic should be among the heaviest in Penang. The road is narrow and there are lots of vehicles and people. =.= As usual, had a traditional 'curry mee' which was cooked by coal fire. This is the same 'curry mee' my dad used to have when he was in primary school. And as expected, I sweat a lot just after a few mouth of the noodles. You can imagine how serious was it when I need to go to nearby 'Suiwah' to buy handkerchief to use. =.= Obviously I just couldn't take spicy food. After some strolling at the roadside market, we went back home.

It was nearly 11 when I was back, after taking my bath, I went to pick up YW around 12.10pm. Although we arrived quite early at the mall, there are already crowds. =.= The long queue on Old Town made us to have our lunch at Macedoine Dining. I've learnt to choose my meal wisely. I chose a chicken chop for myself and YW chose a fish and chips. And it turned up not too bad after all. Just that the portion was just a little bit too large and the salad dressing was a bit too sweet. Later, we went to Borders Bookstore before we went to the cinema at 2.30pm.

Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian was not disappointing after all. The storyline is as interesting as the last episode. Not to be left out is the effect of the movie, it is magnificent! The visual is as stunning as the first episode. Moreover, the intro of the movie is fresh enough, at least the Pevensie siblings didn't access to Narnia from the wardrobe. The battle scenes aren't second to those action movies. Not that I was exaggerating but it is better than what I've expected. Other than that, this sequel also introduced us a new cute little rat which can fight, a new enemy which is the Telmarine. This episode is much more based on the battle between the Telmarine and the Narnians. Therefore the movie is much more violent than the first episode though not that bloody yet. The movie is quite long, the running time is roughly 2 hours 20 minutes.

Some scenes from the movie.
Telmarine's tyrant-Miraz's Armour.

We finished the movie at 5 something. After some chit-chat at the atrium at the central zone, I've to leave as I've things to do at night. Too bad I can't stay any longer and join the dinner. >< Anyway it was the first time I went out for movie since I've started F6.

Chapter 63: Orientation Week...

13th of May...second day in Form 6. The orientation week still didn't officially started. We just sit inside the hall, listened to 'pkm', F6 Supervisor and teachers for talks about school rules, courses, co-curricular stuff, boy-girl's relationships and etc. Other than that, I finally know that how come there are so few cars in the car park. The reason is that the school authorities now strictly carry out the rules that we need to pay monthly parking fees. And before we were being dismissed, the class lists were finally out. To my surprise, I will be in L6F1 and the class will have around 34++ students and out of this number, 5 of them are girls. Biology classes are more lucky as they have just 14-16 students per class. =.= I suppose tomorrow will be another different day.

14th of May...after we had our briefing at the main hall, we proceeded to another hall for the rest of the programs to be carried out. We have some talks from the Tan Chong Express Auto Service which encourage us to taking the courses provided by them. Later on after the break, we have a talk by Tzu Chi Association about environment issues. It did make me more conscious about the global warming issue. As one of the habitants on this earth, we do need to be responsible on what has happened on the earth. The following talk was conducted by a lecturer from UTAR. The talk was on the Biotechnology, Biomedicine, Chemistry and other relevant field. For today, CY, KO, Victor and I stayed back for playing basketball. KH also joined us for the basketball. We played until around 4 before we went back to our home. And I was sick. =.= Flu, headache, coughing and sore throat...Just hope that I'll be well tomorrow.

15th of May...my sickness continued...=.= First, Despark Auto Academy delivered talks about automotive certs. and related careers. They also performed the changing of timing belts on an engine. Later on, Advanced Studies Advisors (ASA) also provided us useful information about our future studies on overseas universities. After that, there was still time left so the counseling teacher gave us talk on sex education. You bet it, HIV, abortion or anything related included. Sort of advise us not to take the wrong step. I wonder why school authority was so worried about this. =.=

16th of May...taken some medicine. Getting bit better than days before. Talks continued. =.= First talk of the day was by International Medical University(IMU) on biology field such as medicine, dentistry and others. Overall, the talks seems well planned and informative. PSB Academy from Singapore was next on the list. This too provided useful information for those who wanna continue their studies in Singapore. Talk on sex education continued by the counseling teacher again. And I can assure that all students got it in their mind at least I'm. LOL...though what have been told already on my mind since years ago. Other than that, this time, the talk covered on superstitious and paranormal stuff too.

20th of May...Both talks today were delivered by INTI speakers. First talk was on Biology field of studies and careers whereas the second talk was on Engineering. Both talks weren't that bad but personally I prefer the engineering talk. Short animation clips were also being played for us. Other than that, we were being given a test to determined our personality by the counseling teacher. Well..this was interesting. The test actually was quite accurate. At least to me, it's quite true. Indeed, I'm someone who worries a lot and also a perfectionist.

21st of May...The talks today were great! The speakers were professors from Monash University of Sunway Campus. They covered Biotechnology and also Electrical and Computer System of Engineering. This talk on Biotechnology actually made me have more ideas of what Biotech is. Overall, both talks were informative. It definitely made me consider going to further future studies in Monash Universities at that moment. LOL...and of course it requires some cash. Not some but quite an amount. LOL...better stick with my form 6 and local universities. Other than the talks, we watched a video clip which talk on drugs abuse. It is definitely hilarious. Never see people to talk like that.

22nd of May...After taken our attendance on the basketball court, we went back to our respective classes for the first time. Well..my class has 32 students...so don't expect to have empty tables and chairs. And I was being called upon by the form teacher. DUH~ He even commented as if I know how to fill in forms. -.-" Later on, we went back to the 'Yu Xiu' Hall for a talk. Luckily the speaker didn't come and the counseling teacher took over. Soon after our recess, we were back to the hall with casual clothes. Soon, the games began. First game...everyone on top of chairs in rows. Then we've to maneuver in that row from the front to the back without touching the floor. After that, we were being divided into teams. And I'm in Team 1. Zhen Ling was the team leader. The first station was one of the team member lie on the ground and must received the water balloon from another team member. And of course, water was everywhere there. =.= Later, the 2nd station games required us to form a circle with newspaper and have the team member in it, move together, acquire the items on floor while stationers have the flour over us. =.= The 3rd station was to transfer the water in a plate over your head while all team members on a flight of stairs. Devastating. Water will pour on your head. =.= 4th station was have a half filled bottle hanging from your waist and try to use that bottle to move a ball across without the help of hands. I was soaked in this station as CY just splashed a bail of water over me. DUH~ 5th station required us to stand on the chairs and try to utilised those chairs and move across a specific distance. While doing so, water was sprayed at us just like rain. -.- The last station however was dry. We just have to spin for 7 rounds and used the mat to blow out candles. When we thought everything has finished, the teams were then combined to become 3 groups. And each of us have to make a circle with newspaper, repeating the previous game. However, have to walk around the 2 basketball courts. =.= After that, things finally ended. LOL...At least this day was better than previous?
related post by noinoi regarding Orientation Day.

23rd of May...was the last day of Sixth Form orientation. As usual, we gathered at basketball to mark attendance. After that, we listened to the talk by the counseling teacher at the 'Yu Xiu' Hall. Thought we can watch a movie to pass that 2 hours but end up listening to talk. Later after recess, a speaker invited by JMECC. It was a talk on engineering field. The talk was just okay. Not that great but still acceptable. After the talk ended at 12.05pm, we had discussion among our classmates for the orientation night performances. Well, I was quite surprise that my classmates actually quite interested in the performances. Without any hassle, we've listed out our performances that night. All the performances were prepared by guys, none from those girls. Other than that, we have chosen out the candidates to participate in the Prom King and Prom Queen event. ^^ My class should stand a chance in that. LOL We left school around 3.30pm without having any lunch yet. And it's HOLIDAY!!!

Chapter 62: Sixth Form!!!

As expected, I've decided to take Form 6. On the morning of May 12th, CY fetch Victor, KO and me to the school for registration. We were surprised that the car park was actually almost empty. Before went to wait at the school hall, we had our breakfast at the school canteen. Well, there was a raised on price for all the food. However, the price are still lower than the food being sold outside. Around 8 something, we were allowed into the hall for the registration. Then we waited until 9a.m. for the others to arrive. We were divided into 3 groups according to the alphaberts while the girls being grouped as one. Later, Sixth Form Supervisor to brief us everything we need to know about Form 6. Then, the Principal and the counseling teacher had a talk with us before we were finally being allowed to have recess at the canteen. These talks make me realised that Form 6 ain't easy to study at all and I've to really given some effort in order to do well. This mean that no fooling around for 2 years before the STPM. =.=

Shortly after the recess, we were back to the hall being welcomed by various Co-curricular societies such as Librarian, Monitor Board, Prefect and not to be left out Sixth Form Society and General Studies Society. Later on, we had the to vote and elect the committee for the 2 week orientation. CY emerged as the President while Kar Thing from UHS (if not mistaken) was being elected as the vice-president. We shall see how fun the two weeks will be. It wouldn't be bad and dull I suppose. And now we sit CY's Sport & Performance Kancil a.k.a. Purple Box(when there's Victor) to school everyday.

Chapter 61: Sending off...

On 10th of May, it was Saturday and I need to go for my French lesson. Well, I drove all the way from my house to Alliance Francaise which located at Georgetown without noticing that I didn't have my wallet with me at all. This means that I didn't bring my IC and driving lesson. I knew this when my dad called me to get it from him outside the centre at 10 something. =.= So 'stiim'

After my French lesson, I went to have lunch at super tanker then have a really short hair cut for Form 6. =.= Soon after that, I went to the bus terminal around 2.20 to send YY off to Seremban. Met with ST and the rest before YY arrived there. She was kinda shocked when she saw us there. She seems didn't expected to see us there. LOL...some of us even lied to her that they ain't gonna make it to send her off. Finally it's time for her to boarded the bus after a while of chit chatting around. So this is the 2nd person from VJS to leave and now left 'S' in Penang, just like a few months before. Wish that YY can adapt well in the new environment and do well in her future studies. And of course not to forget about us(those remain in Penang).

YY and her dad on the bus.
